Application and Enrollment Process

In order to apply for enrollment a student must be a California resident of high school age. In 2007-08 OAHS will only enroll students in 9th and 10th grades. In 2008-09 OAHS will enroll students in 9Th, 10th and 11th grades. In 2009-10 OAHS will enroll students in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades.

The student application and enrollment process has two parts. First a student will apply for enrollment. Once a student is accepted for enrollment, she or he may enroll at OAHS. Pease review the Admissions Policies and Procedures.

  1. Complete Application Forms
The application process is comprised of all the following:
    • Parent and student attendance at a school orientation meeting
    • Completion of a student application form
    • Proof of Immunization
    • Completion of Emergency Medical Information Form
    • Proof of minimum age requirements, e.g. birth certificate
  2. Student will be notified of admission status by school via telephone, mail or email.
  3. Student responds within ten days by contacting Jessica Tobiness at (510) 633-6375 or jtobiness@aviationhighschool.org to confirm the desire to enroll. Students who are accepted but do not respond within ten school days will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list.
  4. Students will receive an enrollment packet including all necessary documents for enrollment in the mail. OAHS will send this packet

  1. Complete all parts of the enrollment packet and turn them in to Jessica Tobiness. A packet will be sent to you, or you may pick one up at the OAHS main office. If you want or need help completing any of the forms, it is available in both English and Spanish. Please contact us any time between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm for help with the enrollment process.
  2. Complete an on site Math and English assessment.

Although we require students to complete all parts of the enrollment process before beginning classes, students will not be denied enrollment because of grades, test scores, home language, sex, race, disabilities, special education or economic status.
